Title Bees

 Introduction (Classification): Bees are black and yellow insects.

Appearance: They have six legs three parts to their body and a short thick body.

 Diet: Bees eat nectar from flowers,pollen,royal jelly and honey.


Habitat: Bees live in beehives and colonies near flowers.

 Life cycle: First a bee is a egg then larva,pupa and adult. What they do Honey bees collect pollen and nectar as food for the entire colony,and as they do,they pollinate plants.

Interesting Facts:There are over 20,000 different species of bees that can be found in almost every pace in the entire world, besides Antarctica.

 Conclusion: Bees are very important to our environment .

Weta

In class we have been writing information about weta

 Title: Weta Introduction: Wetas are members of the insect family and they are endemic to New Zealand.They are also the largest insects in NZ.

 Appearance:The weta has a shiny round head.The wetas legs looks like a spider’s legs.It has long stripy stuff on its legs it also has stripy body.

 Habitat:There are many types of wetas that live in different places like the tree weta. The tree weta lives in holes in trees.Ground weta live in burrows in the ground.Some other weta’s live in grassland, shrub land, forests, alpine and urban gardens. Cave wetas can be found in sea coasts,under houses,and tunnels.

 diet: Wētā eat native plants.Mainly herbivores.Different species eat different plants.They enjoy leaves,lichen,seed heads,fruit and flowers

 Life Cycle:The life cycle of a weta starts with eggs,larva,pupa and adult.

Threats:Other introduced animals such as mammals,reptiles and insects eat weta.

 Conclusion:The weta is a special and the Department of Conservation (DOC) has many programmers to help with their conservation.
